Tyler is our new Sales Manager, servicing our customers in the Midwest. While he’s currently working from home in Ohio, he’s excited to hit the road and meet people face-to-face. He reflects on his experience at Blacklidge so far.
How did you come to work at Blacklidge?
I met a recruiter working on a search for Blacklidge while on vacation in Florida a few months ago. He introduced me to Blacklidge’s VP of Sales, Britt Ward, and he interviewed me on the spot. It all happened very organically and I feel truly blessed to be here.
Describe a typical day.
Since April kicks off the paving season in the Midwest, I would normally be traveling around Ohio, Michigan and Western Pennsylvania, visiting contractors throughout the territory. But, since travel has been suspended, I’m spending a lot of time getting a better understanding of how our products work and how they can help our customers. I’ve also been doing a lot of research on the various asphalt plants and paving contractors in the area that I’ll be meeting in the near future.
What do you like most about working at Blacklidge?
I love that Blacklidge has created a family atmosphere. The people are great and extremely helpful. It’s a company with strong morals and integrity, which is hard to find these days.
What are you looking forward to accomplishing the most?
The ability to make a positive impact by serving our customers and helping make this country a better place with the safest roads possible.
What do you like the most about the asphalt industry?
There’s so much opportunity to turn your job into a rewarding career. It’s a great industry to be in.
